CB Ghost @ The Welders Dog Brewery

The Welders Dog Brewery, Armidale

CB Ghost is bringing the surf-country sound to Armidale for the very first time come Saturday November 7th. Big songs, honest lyrics, a killer band and the kind of live show where the crowd becomes part of it.
Fresh from the coast and armed with new single “All Good Things Take Time,” CB Ghost is here to shake up the night, fill the dance floor and have a bloody good time doing it.

UK’s Rotate Mag describes All Good Things Take Time as “a foot-stomping track that manages to deliver plenty of movement”, powered by “thunderous drums, rhythmic guitars, and a blues-soaked organ” — while beneath the groove lies a songwriter exploring the messier parts of being human: love, loss, chaos, redemption and figuring yourself out.

But CB Ghost is much more than a singer-songwriter with an acoustic guitar.

Backed by his electrifying band — Gem on keyboards, Glenn “Ginger” Baker on drums and backing vocals, Halen Ryan on bass and Scottish rock violinist Archie Petrie — these songs become bigger, louder and far less predictable on stage.

Violin collides with guitars. Keys shift from subtle atmosphere to blues-soaked organ. Vulnerable verses explode into huge choruses.

And CB is right in the middle of it.

The band believes a live show should actually be a SHOW.

Dynamics. Movement. Stories. Humour. Sweat. Quiet moments followed by huge ones — and choruses you can sing even if you walked through the door having never heard a CB Ghost song before.

There’s no standing around staring at shoes.

That’s a CB Ghost show in a nutshell.
